Florida House Representative
Representative Jeanette Núñez, was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2010. She currently represents the 119th District, which covers western and northern portions of Miami-Dade County. . In 2016, Representative Núñez became Speaker pro tempore, and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee. In 2017, after Hurricane Irma, House Speaker Richard Corcoran appointed Representative Núñez to serve as Chair of the Select Committee on Hurricane Response and Preparedness to conduct a broad review of the State’s response and preparedness. Representative Núñez has sponsored several bills to keep our children safe, create jobs, expand new business opportunities, and reduce regularity burdens on small businesses. Representative Núñez attended Florida International University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations in 1994 and her master’s degree in public administration in 1998. Representative Núñez is married to her husband of 18 years, Adrian Nunez, and together they are the proud parents of three children.
