WS120. Vulnerable Populations in Recovery

This workshop will discuss the unique needs and attributes of various vulnerable populations throughout the recovery process. Populations to be discussed may include those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence victims, individuals with substance abuse/mental health needs, gender and sexual minorities, human trafficking victims, and people living in poverty. Specific topics within the recovery process will be discussed, including sheltering (short-term and long-term), implementation of community-wide programs (such as Disaster Case Management Programs), as well as complications that may arise with these populations utilizing FEMA or SBA programs.
