The Municipal Emergency Management Challenge – having a successful Emergency Management (EM) Program when an EM Program isn’t “required”. The City of St. Petersburg, in collaboration with fellow municipal partners and Pinellas County, discuss building a culture of preparedness within your municipality to create a sustainable and valuable EM Program. Topics discussed in the workshop will include: generating buy-in with leadership and department stakeholders, showing your worth to elected officials, the importance of empowering your internal departments to have ownership over processes and procedures, and the necessity of building relationships with fellow municipalities and your County.
