WS114. Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Application Development

PBCCC 1B/1C

This workshop is designed to equip local emergency managers and other potential Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) recipients with the tools and insights needed to develop strong, fund-able mitigation proposals. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the HMGP process, including how to prepare competitive applications, manage Sub-Recipient Management Costs, and build effective budgets that align with FEMA requirements. The session will emphasize practical strategies for navigating common challenges and maximizing the impact of mitigation funding at the local level. A generator project will be used as a walk-through example to illustrate key concepts and keep the session focused and actionable. Whether you’re preparing your first HMGP application or looking to refine your approach, this session will help you strengthen your submissions and support long-term community resilience.
