This training will highlight key planning considerations before the next disaster including how to meet the new requirements outlined in Florida SB 180 pertaining to substantial damage determination assessments, how to surge staff and resources effectively after a disaster, key implementation steps expected by FEMA to maintain your Community Rating System score, communication strategies, and documentation management best practices to streamline the PA process. The training concludes with an interactive tabletop exercise walking students through the decision-making process of how to meet FEMA NFIP requirements and document activities in accordance with FEMA PA, while simultaneously managing a disaster response and initial recovery.
