Cathie has over 30 years of disaster experience. In 1993, she started working in Miami-Dade County in the hardest hit areas recovering from Hurricane Andrew.  Cathie worked for Miami-Dade Emergency Management for fifteen years and worked on numerous programs and responses including the ValuJet plane crash and responding to New York City as part of a 9-11 response. Cathie worked as a firefighter/paramedic and then continued her work in the field of emergency management and disaster response as a consultant helping numerous counties around the state.  Cathie has served as the Pinellas County Emergency Management director since October 2018.   One of her hobbies is puzzles which like her job is all about trying to figure out how to put puzzle pieces together.
