With over 30 years in the work force and 15 years of law enforcement experience, LT. Volz has worked as an Emergency Management Director for 10 years.  LT. Volz is a 1999 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in criminology.   He also has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of South Florida.  LT. Volz has been a volunteer/mentor at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches for more than 15 years.

LT. Volz has deployed on numerous storms in Florida. He has also worked as the Incident Commander for three multi-day missing person searches. LT. Volz has been in Suwannee County as the EM Director since February of 2021. “It has been an absolute privilege to work with and serve the people in Suwannee County, specifically during Hurricane Idalia,” said LT. Volz.
