Chair, Florida VOAD
Jessica Geib currently works for Pinellas County Human Services as the department Emergency Manager, working to strengthen programs in the county and coordinate with the Emergency Management department leadership team. Prior to this position, she served as the State Liaison for the Salvation Army, Florida Division, collaborating on all levels of local, state, and federal partnerships- both non-profit, private sector and government. She has responded to numerous major events including the 2004 Hurricanes, Katrina, the Pulse Nightclub shooting, COVID 19, multiple federally declared hurricanes both in and outside of Florida, and most recently Hurricanes Ian and Idalia.
Starting her career with the American Red Cross in 2004, she then went on to work at the Florida Division of Emergency Management, developing a nationally recognized internship program. Jessica serves on the Governor’s Hurricane Conference Program and chairs the Academic Research Panel, she also serves on the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association Certification Committee, the State Mass Care Working Group, and chairs the FEPA Mentorship Committee.
Jessica is the current Chair of the Florida Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, a network of over 100 organizations throughout Florida.
She holds her Florida Professional Emergency Manager (FPEM) certification, Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) through the International Association of Emergency Managers, has earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Florida State University and a Masters of Public Administration also from Florida State University. Currently working on her PhD from Oklahoma State University in Emergency Management and Fire Administration, she resides in Tampa, Florida with her two children, Cooper and Marley Grace.
